We hire for judgment, not credentials.

Our markets are difficult and our work is demanding. If you want to understand Latin America and Lusophone Africa from the inside, we would like to hear from you.

We are a small firm that does consequential work. That means every person here carries real weight. We hire slowly and we hire carefully.

Coppermont — On how we build the team
What We Look For
Regional depth

You have spent meaningful time in Latin America or Lusophone Africa. You speak at least one of our working languages at a professional level. You understand that the region is not a monolith.

Analytical rigour

You can read a political situation, a balance sheet, and a regulatory environment — and tell the difference between signal and noise. You write clearly and concisely in at least two languages.

Operational seriousness

You meet deadlines. You communicate problems early. You are comfortable with ambiguity and you do not need to be told what to do next. You understand that our clients are making real decisions on our work.

How We Work

Remote-first, travel-required.

Our team works remotely across multiple time zones. We do not maintain a central office. What we do require is that you spend real time in the markets you cover — not as a tourist, but as someone who is building relationships and sourcing primary intelligence.

Engagements are project-based. You will work on a small number of client situations at any time, with the expectation that you know each one deeply.

Compensation and structure.

We pay for expertise. Compensation is commensurate with experience and is structured around the value each person brings to engagements. We do not have junior roles — if you are early in your career, we are probably not the right fit yet.

We work with a small number of associates and full-time practitioners. Both paths are available depending on your situation and the work at hand.
